The Employer's Agent role is a service provided to clients who wish to construct new, generally uncomplicated buildings, and want the security of a fixed cost via a Design and Build Contract.

Haldons believe that the key objective of the Employer’s Agent role is to ensure that the employer’s brief and expectations of the building contract are fully delivered and satisfied.

This is a bespoke role to suit the specific needs of an individual project and client's requirements.  Our clients are provided with the necessary skills to suit particular projects and represent a client's interests at all stages of a project, from site acquisition, planning, procurement, development and fit out.

Our scope of service is assessed on a project by project basis, and while it can be offered separately, combining this with our Quantity Surveying service enables us to provide a more complete package and offer better value for money to our Clients.

We offer close and frequent liaison with all parties and through this and close inspection of the project we are able to offer ‘live’ reporting of the programme.  This is coupled with robust contract administration and quality control, a thorough understanding of the development process and commercial awareness.

The essential elements of the role are:


  • Accountability for project delivery

  • Promotion of teamwork and facilitation of team relationships

  • Communication of objectives for the project within the value proposition and brief

  • A robust management model that provides clear roles and responsibilities for delivering the project

  • Tight commercial and programming control of the design and construction process

  • Implementing a reporting regime that enables the clients to make key decisions and makes the project team accountable for project performance

  • Establishing and managing a set of key performance indicators (KPIs).
